So as you’ve probably heard now – we won two EGPA’s! Here’s some footage of the awards show and after party. Come marvel at Matt looking gorgeous in his suit as he accepted the awards (He’s actually very sweet and shy but did great up there), check out a couple of MAP favourites we ran into and laugh at me staggering round Berlin like Patsy from Absolutely Fabulous.

So when I was told I was going to Berlin with our boys, I was very excited. Not only had I never been to Berlin before, but this was also my first awards ceremony that celebrated porn … it was just like the Oscars but with slightly more cum shots and slightly less old queens.

When driving up to the awards, I was worried it was being held in some sort of tiny church hall (Pineapple on a stick anyone?). But the outside view was deceiving and once in the ceremony room the glamour materialized. Pumping music, flashing lights and lazers, euro drag queens, endlessly flowing alcohol and most importantly a room full of gorgeous gay porn stars dressed to the nines.
We also got to chat to some stalwart menatplay models Francesco D’macho and Milan who were looking HOT and were soaking up the complimentary alcohol and working the room.

The awards kicked off with London based drag queen Johnny Woo providing a wonderfully dry but energetic opener, with a look that was part Rocky Horror part walking sex toy. The first award was also a win for us - Best Stud film – which was a really pleasant surprise. Then it was my turn to stagger on to the stage and accept an award for Julian who won best top for his performance in Executive Pleasures 1. Best three hours work he ever did! It was also interesting to see all of the behind the scenes people and producers from all over the world who made all of this pornography happen.

With 25 categories, the awards were doled out at an impressive pace. The fact that they showed clips of each film nominated created some of the more bizarre moments of the evening – clapping politely to someone being spanked and someone cumming was another new experience in quite an eye opening event.
After a short taxi ride – and a conversation with a sweet but clueless taxi driver who commented that we’d just attended a ‘small film awards’ it was off to the after-party where the free booze was taking hold nicely and gorgeous models were grinding away to some German house music … and pouting for pictures as if they were in a Keira Knightly lookalike competition.

All in all, a wonderfully vibrant and colourful evening – the awards are still very much in their infancy but are starting to attract enough attention that I’m sure the third one next year will be even bigger. So the last thing to do is to raise a glass to all the winners … and roll on 2009!
